Meet him

Girish Sharma.

A living story teller.

When he was 2 years old, he lost his one leg in a train accident.

For most of us, the thought of being disabled is enough to haunt us but Girish had something else in his mind. He says, ” when I was a child, I used to play cricket, football, badminton with normal children of my age. My disability was nowhere near in my mind”.

What a spirit!!

He has won Gold medal in para Olympic Asia Cup for disabled which was held in India. He has also represented India and played in other countries as well.

But the shocking truth is that, he receives no monetary help from state government or Indian government. It is such a shame that even though he leads India for disabled, brings Gold medals, he is left unrecognized.

He does six hours training everyday. He has got one strong leg with the help of which he moves around the badminton court all the time to hit the shuttlecock.

Now, he is the man with a great spirit and on the other hand, most of us are still complaining about our lives and relatively small things, get easily demotivated, ready to blame the situations and so on.

We should be thankful for having a life where we can get education, proper nutrition, having a beautiful sweet home and so many small and big privileges.

People like Girish are inspiration for us. They teach us what determination, dedication and hard work is.

So, stop complaining, have faith in yourself , do hard work and realize the value of little things…
